Angie Motshega drops good news, parents will be happy about this

On Schools latest updates, The minister of education Angie Motshega has confirmed that October holidays will go ahead and will not be scrapped to account for lost time in the classroom.

The students and parents should not fear , the October holidays will go ahead as scheduled, despite the speculations that the Department of Education has planned to use the October holidays for school learners to make up for the lost time.

Minister Motshega said this during school briefing on Sunday 29 August that while the strategy to reclaim the substantial time school's have been forced to remain closed and the entire school schedule should go as planned.

"CEM agreed that the amended 2021 School Calender must be retained as it was from its very last that the October holidays, will not be interfered with", said the Minister.

She also said that it is vital that the government introduces measures to catch upon the time as well as the teaching and learning that was lost through Covid-19 pandemic.
