MZANSI POKES FUN AT TOASTER LAPTOPS! .
NSFAS understudies at Tshwane University of Technology actually got the astonishment of their lives when the PCs they were holding on for from the understudy financing program wound up being a joke.
The TUT has settled any deception about those PCs that have been doing the rounds through online media.
TUT agent Phaphama Tshisikhawe said the school has not given any PCs to their understudies.
She said any PC that will be given will be coming straightforwardly from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme.
"The school won't have a say in what kind of workstations will be given to understudies," she said.
Tshisikhawe said they have noted Twitter posts ridiculing the PCs purportedly given to understudies by TUT.
"I can attest that we didn't give any PCs, especially those ones on Twitter," she said.
On Tuesday evening, a Twitter customer shared a PC he ensured he got from TUT.
Online media had a field day, criticizing the workstations, with some standing out them from sandwich toasters and youths PCs.
@Rochie posted the PC and tweeted: "People TUT gave understudies these workstations. One costs R5 200.00."
@Omegaz said: "Barr after o submit'a task holla kid shark do."
@Yanga_que said: "You can check your weight and finish your assignment all the while."
