OPINION: Will Students be getting their December Allowance this year?.

Students at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology(CPUT) and the University of Limpopo, have voiced their anger on Wednesday after those who qualify for Nsfas funds learned that their December Allowance may not be paid, until further notice.

As Students from both Universitys tried to get clarity to the situation it only fuelled the flames of frustration even further. The university says it is waiting on the Nsfas to make the final decision on when to release funds, which may depend on their examinations.

'' The Minister approved only the living Allowance to be paid. Please note NSFAS is following internal approval processes and alignment with the DHET so that communication is streamlined properly. In order to identify the students who will qualify for the additional allowance, the Assessment and Graduation centers must be confirm the final result dates for all faculties''.

Students think that all this delays must be contributed by corruption in the Educational system. While other students say that the minister is not telling the whole truth, they say the NSFAS has ran out of money to help the students.
