Level framework: What the grades mean


• Level 7: 80-100 percent (Outstanding accomplishment)


• Level 6: 70-79% (Meritorious accomplishment)


• Level 5: 60-69% (Substantial accomplishment)


• Level 4: 50-59% (Moderate accomplishment)


• Level 3: 40-49% (Adequate accomplishment)


• Level 2: 30-39% (Elementary accomplishment)


• Level 1: 0-29% (Not accomplished: Fail)


Which subjects are obligatory?


• Home Language


• First Additional Language


• Maths or Maths Lit


• Life Orientation


• Either English or Afrikaans as one of your dialects
