The university said the Scanlan Street Upgrade construction site between the Education Precinct and the Central Campus will remain closed for 14 days.
"The employee concerned was last on site a week ago, however, after confirmation of his diagnosis, the site was closed with immediate effect and will be kept closed until the regulatory 14-day period is completed. The university will be kept advised on the matter. The direct contacts and office colleagues will be tested for covid-19 as a matter of priority and they are in a 14-day self-isolation. Should any of them test positive the standard protocols for contact tracing will be put in place" said Maistry.
