A look at the preparedness for the reopening of schools in Gauteng

A look at the preparedness for the reopening of schools in Gauteng . A better back to school for parents in 2022 as they will not be forced to buy uniforms from specific retailers . It is a different back to school for the South African parents in 2022 as they will not be forced to have to buy uniforms from specific retailers .The schools in the inland provinces will be reopening schools of Wednesday the 12th of January 2022 .

This time around it is a different back to school experience after the Competition Commission found that the parents and guardians would not have to buy uniforms from specified retailers .he eNCA wanted to make an assessment if the initiative was making a difference for the parents and guardians .The eNCA reporter was asked whatthe decision meant for parents .In response , Heidi Giokos revealed that the announcement by the Competition Commission was good for the parents and guardians .The eNCA however went on and invited Mr Steve Mabona to share Gauteng department's preparedness for the reopening on Wednesday. When hewas asked whether the schools were ready to reopen , he said that they were ready and that they had prepared for the reopening last year in 2021.He however said that even though the schools were ready , they would be able to say that they were completely ready when the unplaced 1400 learners have been placed .Mr Mabona said that as more of their staff were returning from leave ,there would be more changes in regard to the unplaced learners .He said that in December they were not operating as a skeleton , but things would change between today( Monday ) and Tuesday .Gauteng East , Johannesburg Central and Ekurhuleni North were the districts that were identified as being of major concerns regarding the placement of the Grade 1 and 8 learners for the academic year .
