Road Accident

Look what happened to this boy who was caught studying under a street light

Education is the gateway to a better life.

Many children from impoverished families do not have that luxury of studying in a well knit room.

Some simply have to compromise in order to do their school work. But that compromise often comes with hazards of its own.

Imagine what would happen to a child studying under a street light when a car that's driven by a drunkard eventually appears speeding. A disaster.

Fortunately for Salim Khamis, a Grade Six pupil from Jola Urabi Primary in Shanzu, he will not be studying under a street light anymore.

He was recently captured on camera doing his homework using street light in a video that quickly went viral all over social media.

One organisation saw the video and decided to step in. Salim and his family were relieveda lot after receiving the much-needed help from well-wishers.

Well-wishers came through in a major way and saw to it that Salim and his family had gotten a complete solar system.

By the way this happened in Kenya. It's good to see Africans uplifting one another. It is through such initiatives that we grow.
