White comrade criticized for joining EFF at UCT

While you're here, please follow me!

We are claimed to be a rainbow nation but everyone has their own idea of what the rainbow should look like. A UCT student took to Twitter to canvass for votes as an SRC candidate affiliated with the EFF.

Her caption read besties I’m doing a thing! I have decided to run as an SRC candidate for the 2021/2022 term. I can’t begin to describe my excitement at the idea of serving the students at uct ❤️ I’d be ever so grateful for your sharing and interacting with my post 🤞🏽

While there is a considerable amount of support shown to her, there were also a few critics who feel that she should not be part of the EFF because she's "involving herself in African affairs" and "doesn't understand decolonization in education". I think it's unfair to nullify her attempts to be in the forefront of change because doing so assumes that all white bodies are rxcist and do not wish to see the emancipation of all!

I'm not suggesting that she's an excellent leader but at the same time, she has been prejudged as not caring about the interests of blxck people just because she's a white comrade. The fact that she knows she'll be met with scrutiny but still decides to go ahead with campaigning that she's willing to learn and serve!

Are you intolerant of diversity? What is "decolonised higher education"? Is it the same as Africanization and/or indigenization of South African society at large? How will it impact on your future in Africa? Is your Africanization objective in line with the Constitution, 1996?

You're wishing someone who represents a party that would literally destroy South Africa if given any power the best? You are lost, Bianca.

This is how Africans lost their knowledge, power and reign. By bringing everyone into their affairs
