It is a South African culture to publish matric results. For years they were published in a newspaper with names until the first group of CAPS which matriculated in 2014, their results were published with just their examination number to protect the learners so that they don't kill them selves anymore.
Rolling outcome:
The Department of Basic Education must post matric results on media outlets, according to the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.
The results of the National Senior Certificate will be published on Thursday.
The agency said last week that matric results would no longer be released on public media, citing a violation of the Personal Information Protection Act.
Opinion
Matric results should be published with only the examination number, this reduced the number of suicides and matric is also an achievement, viewing your results in a newspaper is amazing.so I am happy with the court's ruling.
