Update: CYRIL RAMAPHOSA | Shut down SCHOOLS by Wednesday 30th June | Or Friday Latest

South African Government schools will be shutting down from Wednesday 30th June. All schools must be closed by Friday Latest.

This comes after the alert level 4 was given for South Africans to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in our country.

Students are writing exams currently and will be completing this during the course of this week.

So it all fell in accordance with their exams and the immediate shut down of schools won't affect students much.

That's truely good news for Minister of basic Education Angie Motshekga and probably we'll played from her side too.. 👏

Alot of changes for South Africans amid the introduction of Alert ⚠ Level 4.

Basic Education department was adamant to continue with classes because students have really missed out on alot of their curriculum during the coronavirus pandemic in South Africa.

It seems now that they would have been nearing the end of term by next week and this urgent move would not affect them much.

In the coming days the President and his cabinet and other members of the ANC and government will be in discussions with what needs to be done moving forward.

They will be observing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in South Africa and notice if the infections continue to increase then more Restrictions will need to come into place.

We are all hopeful that during these 14 days we start to see a decline in infections and death rates so that we will not be subjected to further and harder lockdown restrictions.
