A survey was carried out in schools belonging to a township in Gauteng and this was found

Equal Education reportedly conducted a survey in a certain township in Gauteng . The findings were made known on Saturday in eTwatwa , located in Ekurhuleni during a launch of their campaign .

The campaign which had been named #NoSpaceForUswas carried out many years after a call was made to the Department of Basic Education to make sure that schools are made to meet a minimum standard of Infrastructure .

The Norms and Standards for public school Infrastructure policy which was included in the Standard African Schools Act stipulates the minimum standards that every school must-have .The schools that were surveyed were from Etwatwa . The report highlighted that 557 out of 751 schools had more than 40 learners . The Act stipulates that a class must not have more than 40 learners . It was also revealed that 72 out of 105 classrooms are too small for the number of learners .
