5 South African Celebrities Who Dropped Out Of School But Are Still Successful.

Although education is essential for success, these superstars have managed to achieve greatness despite their lack of it. There's no denying that many young people look up to these Mzansi celebrities. However, we are not attempting to persuade anyone to drop out of school; rather, we are trying to prove that a school degree is not required for a successful life.

However, some of them dropped out of school, while others simply failed the courses multiple times until they were kicked out of the course. Their current lives cover the fact that many of them lack qualifications and others are dropouts, and they live a luxury lifestyle without ever having to worry about going back to school.

1. Andile Jobe.

Andile was expelled out of school after his father died, and his mother couldn't afford to pay his school fees. He tried unsuccessfully to persuade the principal to let him return.

2. Cassper Nyovest.

Another celebrity who dropped out of high school to pursue his passion of becoming a musician is Cassper Nyovest (rapper).

In 2006, Nyovest dropped out of high school, left his family, and relocated to Johannesburg. Nyovest was signed by the Motswako label "Impact Sounds" the following year, still at the age of 16. He left to start his own label after two years without a record, but it failed, and he returned home.

Cassper Nyovest, on the other hand, is now one of South Africa's most well-known rappers today.

3. Bonang Matheba.

She is one of the many celebrities who never completed their education, but her story is a little different from the rest. She failed multiple modules and was kicked out of the University of Johannesburg.

She was allegedly too famous on campus, causing her to lose focus and never focus on her studies.

4. Minnie Dlamini.

Minnie was a student at UCT studying cinema, media, drama, and economics, but she dropped out to pursue a career in television in Joburg. She claims she's considering Bcomm Marketing as a way to get into the business side of things.

That worked out nicely for her, as she is now more than just a television host. She has turned into a successful entrepreneur.

5. Charlize Theron.

Charlize Theron was born and raised in Johannesburg, where she attended The National School of the Arts for high school. She went to school till she dropped out.
