After the Department of education took the decision not to disclose the 2021 matric results on publication platforms, it has left many in confusion on why are they going to keep them secret. Their reasoning was to protect the personal information.

What left me perplexed was that after all these years of publishing, now the chose to say they protect personal information, why now? And fortunately enough, AFRIFORUM also stood up against this decision by the Department.

And what pleases me is that they have won the case. According to Newzroom it is revealed that" Newzroom Afrika on Twitter: "#MatricResults The Department of Basic Education's overturned decision not to publish results was based on the POPI Act. But Afriforum argued that the Act was applied incorrectly." / Twitter"

What you have to know as a grade 12 leaner who attended it last year and now waiting for your results, it has been decided that the results will be published on their usual publication platforms. So, what you have to do is to register to receive the results by SMS.

Or you can take the option to check the news paper. But it has been revealed also that the 2021 matric class has performed so poorly than other years. But, let this notr scare you off, wether you made it or did not make it, there is still time to make things right this year.

As some committed suicites after receiving their poor results in the past years, what I say to you is that do not opt in for this choice. Just live your life and register for matric rewrite, then maybe you would come out alright with good results that pleases you.

What do you think as a reader? Would you say that it is a good thing for the results to be published or not?
