The Tshwane University of Technology has a number of campuses around South Africa. The university has been practicing Covid-19 regulations since the break out of Covid-19. It has continued to be careful, and allowed students to have online classes from time to time.
The university has not had graduations since 2020. It cancelled all graduations, and only had virtual ones since the beginning of lockdown. It is said that all 2021 graduations were also postponed, due to Covid-19.
TUT has announced that, due to the continuous confirmed increase of positive COVID-19 cases in South Africa, specifically in Gauteng. The University management agreed to dealing with this by suspending contact classes from Monday, tomorrow 7th June 2021.
This is done to try and reduce the number of cases in Covid-19. It is also done to protect those who might get infected if contact classes continue. The university has also stated that, they will allow students who will come into the campus to write tests, but they will be required to leave the campus as soon as they are done.
