The Eyewitness news reported that the KZN Department of Education is off the hook for now after it got cleared of the allegations of inflating prices of the water tanks .
It had been implied that there had been irregularities regarding the department's purchase of the water tanks.The Special Investigating Unit is reported to have conducted the investigations and cleared the Education department of any wrong doings.
The Department of Education in the Kwa-Zulu Natal came under the spotlight when it circulated on social media that it had made purchases of water tanks at R170 000 for each tank.The report from the Special Investigating Unit is reported to have been welcomed by the Education MEC in the KZN, Kwazi Mshengu.
The Education MEC Mshengu is reported to have highlighted that the positive report from the Special Investigating Unit was a morale booster for the workers whom he described as being under severe pressure following the allegations of inflating the prices of the water tanks .
