The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is the biggest funder of tertiary education students in South Africa. Millions of hopeful recipients apply for NSFAS funding each and every year.
NSFAS funds tertiary education across all public institutions for all eligible students. To be eligible the combined family income should not exceed R350 000 per annum.
NSFAS has provided tools on their website where those who applied can track the progress status of their website in real-time. This tool is quite helpful as it removed the need to call NSFAS for progress.
The past few days have been confusing for applicants, as they could not see the progress of their application. NSFAS has explained that this is actually a glitch in the system and they are busy trying to resolve.
NSFAS explained that as soon as the system is fixed applicanta will once be able to see they progress status. For now they can continue searching for space or registering.
