Frenchman Sylvain Helaine is a 36 year old teacher, artist, comedian and international model. He has been a teacher for 12 years, but parents at his school in Palaiseau, a suburb of Paris, complained that he was scaring the children, claiming they had nightmares because of his tattoo.
The Frenchman holds the title of being the most tattooed man in all of France. His entire body is covered with ink from his feet all the way to his face. Only a small margin isn't.
At the school he taught the parents weren't at ease by the fact he was a teacher that was covered with such tattooes and he was released from his teaching duties. He was saddened by the decision and I'm a statement he said:-
"I think the decision they took was quite sad, I lost my job because of a 3 year old who I never taught was afraid to look at me. I am a primary teacher and I love my job."
Apart from teaching he does Modelling and Stands Up Comedy. Several model agencies have taken him for films and TV series, last year Helaine even met with The Matrix' director Lana Wachowski as well as Mathieu Kassovitz. Clearly I'm the near future he might be a regular on our big screen.
What's shocking is that Helaine came out and said that he is not confortable looking at himself in the mirror anymore. Clearly he knows he went way overboard by tattooing his face. He even covered his tattoos with a makeup once and surprised his dad with a face with no tattoos.
This goes to show that people who tattoo their entire bodies end up regretting that decisions. The sad part is that they have to live with it for the rest of their lives. As much as you can remove tattoos with a laser the face remains as a no go area at the moment.
Think twice before you ink your body, especially your face. Once that tattoo is embedded in your skin there is no going back. Think twice.
Here's how he looked like before tattooing his face
