DBE was ordered to publish the matric results by the court

A decision that has been made by the Department of Basic Education not to publish the Matric results on media was overturned by the court on Tuesday .The decision that was made saw the department being ordered to publish the results on all media platforms .

AfriForum had taken the Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga to court over the decision that was announced a few days ago .The Magistrate reportedly said that i was at the national interest to have the results published as a result of everyone not having access to internet and the geographical reasons .

The arrangement by the department had been such that one would have to physically go to his/her school to have access to the results .It was argued that not everyone could be around school or near the school to have access to the results .

AfroForum's Natasha ( pictured above ) informed Newzroom Afrika's Ziyanda Ngcobo that they decided to take the case because the decision by the Department of Basic Education was irrational.Natasha also said that the decision was made in the interest of the learners , and they wanted them to have access to the results as quickly as possible .

When Natasha was asked how they felt with the decision that had been taken by the court , Natasha said that they felt satisfied and they welcomed the decision that was made .She added that after the hard work by the learners ,they hoped that they could have access to the results as soon as possible and celebrate with their loved ones as soon as the the results got available .

AfriForum has hope that there will be no delay in the publishing of the results when they are released on Friday .Results for the 2021 Matrics are expected to be released on the 21st of January 2022 .
