Angie Motshekga reveals on school closure

The South African Minister Basic Education, Angie Motshekga respond to the claim made by the President and Commander in Chief of the EFF, Julius Malema regarding schools being closed.

Yesterday during the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) press conference or media briefing, Julius Malema gave Minister of Education Angie Motshekga seven (7) days to close all the schools or they will close the schools themselves.

"Schools must close and they must close with immediate effect because our children are going to die. We give the Minister seven days to close schools. Failure to do so, and we will have to close schools ourselves." Julius Malema said.

The minister of Basic Education says that she will not close the schools and her department did not plan to do so. She added by saying that those who will try to close the schools by force will be faced by the law and they will be dealt accordingly.

"Those who are planning to shut down schools forcefully will be dealt with the law enforcement" Said Angie.

She added by saying that schools will receive 100% capacity of learners when schools reopen for the third term.
