Matriculant? Here's What You Need To Know About 2021 Matric Exams

With the remaining 18 days before the final examination for grade 12 students, the Department of Basic Education released a statement, briefing the media about Covid-19 regulations and protocols before commencing with the final exams.

The 2021 Final exam for National Senior Certificate(NSC) matriculants is expected to commence on the 27th of October 2021 and will be written until the 7th of December, Tuesday.

Learners are being encouraged in all social media platforms to put more effort than they did before, because after final examination, it's either varsity or grade 11 if your effort was not enough for you to be accepted at any institution. Most schools are increasing teaching hours, sometimes they will go home at 5PM, to prepare matriculants for their last lap exam.

It was said that this year there are 735 677 full time candidates who will be writing their final exams. Usually, there are 600 000 candidates who qualify for writing their final exams, although 2020 also had an increase of 97 226 candidates, resulting in 697 226 candidates. As for part time students, there are 162 109 of them who will be writing their exams this year as 2020 had 117 808 candidates.

There's a total of 11 308 examination centers across South Africa, with 6 326 public schools, 526 private schools, and more.

As always, examinations have strict rules which learners should follow. There will be screening, hand sanitizers and physical distancing to prevent spreading the virus.

If any candidate tests positive for the virus during the exam, the candidate will write in an isolated exam room, to keep other candidates safe from contracting the virus.

Marking will begin from 8 December 2021 after the final paper at the marking center and the 2021 results will be released on 21 January 2022.

I'd love to say goodluck to all candidates. Please share this information with others. And follow me for more
