The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa says Eskom provoked workers into going on an unprotected strike. The union says while it's not part of this industrial action, it understands the frustrations of workers.

Below are the comments about what the National union of metalworkers of South Africa is saying about the Eskom workers

"Eskom must shut down if means workers must be exploited, the cost of living has risen and everyone must get a meaningful increase."

"Government employees are also provoked by Cyril Ramaphosa who approved 3% increase to Cabinet members while Public service servants are getting nothing"

"Eskom is our everyday problem... and our leaders r doing nothing about it and this Eskom problem is sabotaging some of our businesses "

"28000 workers??? Get rid of 14000 by golly. We can certainly do with a more streamlined well qualified workforce and get eskom back and operating. No wonder eskom cant come right."

"What confuses me during covid lock downs they were essential workers"
