Back in July 2021 the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa re-introduced the SRD funds, which will be paid to disadvantaged adults in South Africa who are not working. The funds were going to be paid from August 2021 to March 2022.

The funds were created to soften the financial blow Covid-19 brought about, but this time it was after the looting of Malls and Shopping Centers in certain parts of Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal Provinces.
People who qualified to receive the fund were asked to provide their banking details while applying, and if you didn't have one they were going to receive it at Post Offices, but due to people being many for the Post offices to handle the South African government has added few places where they can receive their funds.
The beneficiaries can now receive their grants from designated main Supermarkets after they receive an SMS confirmation, and no grant will be received at subsidiaries stores like Shoprite liquor and other stores in that line.
