The ANC of today is very selfish (opinion)

The ANC of today exists for itself and not for the greater masses of the people, certainly not for the poor. Usually, it's discourse is peripheral to the priorities of the country.

Economic discussions are left to the elite and multilateral agencies, as they discuss structural issues like the energy crisis, spectrum, ICT, manufacturing, investor confidence and public sector efficiency.

These issues are not on the agenda of ANC structures, nor are they repackaged for the general population to understand and carve their own role and contribution to their resolution.

And members, as well as the generality of both ANC members and the broader middle class, they are spectators to the management of the affairs of their own country.

It is common cause that ANC leaders are some of the most stupefyingly ignorant officials. Ben Turok once said that he had met ANC members of parliament who didn't know the contents of the Freedom Charter.
