We are hearing all sorts of promises from different political parties and because we had so many failed promises, it is hard to believe anyone anymore. Especially when they promise us things that we have been told that are hard to do.
Patriotic Alliance is now promising South Africans that if they take over, people will start on a clean slate. Their municipal debt will be scraped. We know that many communities are high in debt especially when it comes to electricity and water. We even saw a proposal by the people of Soweto saying that they can only afford to pay electricity of R200 per month.
Many people are unemployed in the country and with the government out of options on how to create jobs, it was just a noble thing to do. Scrap the historic debt but that was not to be. They always came up with some sorts of reasons why that can not be done while each and everyday, we hear about how government official fills their pockets with State money that is meant for the poor people of this country.
But lucky for the people of South Africa, Patriotic Alliance is here and they are promising to ensure that there is no more municipal historic debt. However it seem like the party will only scap a debt that is over R80 000. It could mean that those who owe less than R80 000, will still have to pay their debt.
It seems like some people are not convinced about the change that the leader of the Patriotic Alliance claims, since we know that he was once in prison. There are people who believe in second chances and there are those who would say that the 'leopard never changes its spot'
"You can call me an x-con you can insult me daily because of past of 30 years ago but my people gives me unconditional love"
