A lot of people have benefited from the SASSA R350 grant. However, some people have been turned down incorrectly. Those who have been wrongfully denied have been told to file for reconsideration, but most have yet to hear back.
A Sassa spokesperson told the eNCA a few days ago that the reconsideration process had been delayed due to the means test that they must do before granting the application. The means test entails obtaining information from the applicant's banks proving that he or she has not been receiving any money.
According to the spokesman, if your application is denied this month, you must file for reconsideration before the end of the month, since one must apply for reconsideration every month.
According to the spokesperson, if your application is approved after reconsideration, you are entitled to all of the money that is owing to you. He also said that some people request to get their money through the post office despite having bank accounts, and he advised them to add their bank accounts so that their money might be paid to their bank accounts instead.
