It was not so long ago when social media personality Bonang Matheba created what we thought it's her own bottle of sparkling wine called House of BNG and was available all across the country. AKA has been so much vocal about brands looting influencers and celebrities, he once said this, "it's a "shame" that other "brands will fly you half-way around the world for you to take photos next to people who don’t care about you, instead of them giving you a slice of their business". This statement is coming out as a reality for what is going between Bonang and her partnerships.
I really feel bad for Bonang Matheba on what is going on between her and CSA Global. CSA Global has allegedly negotiated directly with House of BNG wine-making partners Vino Ventures and has split the partnership between them cutting Bonang Matheba out as a shareholder. It seems as If CSA Global went for control in the house of BNG in their agreement and gave Bonang a slice of the economic benefit. Then she was a front instead of a shareholder. Contracts are very difficult, if you are to front anything, these celebrities and content creators should onset know that equity is better than commission. But then again as Africans if those with means of production have many options, we don't have much choice.
