“Pay the Grant ” : Thuli Madonsela dropped a bombshell to Cyril Ramaphosa about the R350 funds

Recently it was reported that the R350 unemployment grant will have to be made permanent but president Cyril Ramaphosa said that if that is done it could bring in lots of problems to the South African economy. The R350 grants was introduced when SA first got hit by the COVID-19. It was mainly for those who had lost their jobs due to the virus as well as the those who were not employed at that time and not receiving any income such as child grants and others .

Now the Former public protector Thuli Madonsela has dropped a bombshell to President Cyril Ramaphosa saying that there is no way the economy can suffer due to the fund that was not even allocated based on the Poverty level. It will also not prevent anyone from getting employment just because they are receiving this grant .The grant must be made permanent.

Around 2020 Blade Mzimande also stipulated that the R350 grant has been a great help to many people in their household. Many people were suffering without employment and to us money helped uplift their needs as well of that their families. A petition is said to have been passed and many people seemed to have joined it . At this moment, a future consultation with the department of social development is said to be held. Ramaphosa will have to sustain further proof and explain to the youth in particular who are unemployed at the moment of the way forward.

If the R350 somehow have an impact on the job creations as well as employment opportunities, the government should elaborate further on a way forward to make things clear to everyone who Apply’s for it. At the moment, not everyone managed to get the money , there are still thousands of unemployed people who are still struggling to apply for it let alone getting approved .
