Another round of load-shedding was announced on Saturday

The South African power utility company Eskom reportedly announced its intentions to introduce another round of load-shedding in South Africa .

It was announced that there would be Stage 2 of Load-shedding which would start from 21:00 pm on Saturday night , to 5 am on Monday morning. The need to implement load-shedding was owed to failures at some of the generation units .

These include Kusile , Medupi, and Arnot power stations. It was also owed to delays in the return to service of Tutuka power station according to what the power utility said. Coal conveyors at Medupi reportedly failed at the Mudupi power station leading to the reduction in terms of power supply .

A call was therefore made by the power utility company to the residents to use electricity sparingly in order to help reduce the strain on the power utility company´s system . South Africa last had load-shedding in November and it was a result of power failures as well.
