The cattle sure are happy to have these nice warm temperatures!
This weekend we weighed all the feeder cattle. Doing this allows us to adjust our rations accordingly, to keep on track for the target end weight as well as ensuring gains are matching the ration
The heifers have been able to wander about outside of their pen to pasture, with continued feeding in their pen so they could slowly get accustomed to being able to roam
This past weekend we have let the heifers out of the corrals, and they are now being fed and staying out on the pasture ground. Doing so reduces yardage costs in a few ways one of , such as limiting the amount of manure build up in the corrals. The cows continue bale grazing and are happy to see the warmer weather, after the recent cold snap
