Eskom announced loadshedding new stage from Wednesday until next Monday

"Eskom regrets to inform the public that stage 2 loadshedding from 11amthis morning until the loadshedding will be ongoing until next week Monday. This loadshedding is necessary due to shortage of generation capecity following breakdowns of two more generating units during the night, "Eskom said.

Eskom has announced Stage 2 loadshedding until next Monday. It will protect Capetonians from one stage of loadshedding, as follows

2022 February 02

Stage 1

Below is the statement from eskom that explains, their challenge at the moment, they are trying to resolve them as soon as possible to avoid the panic from citizens of South Africa.

Eskom power alert of the loadshedding that will be taking place today, WEDNESDAY people should be expecting it from 11:00 due. Eskom is currently dealing with a significant situation that would require the implementation to loadshedding stage 2 to recover or to store the power supply from the lacking generators.

The usage of electricity in South Africa is also high Eskom would like to inform users to:

Switch off light that are not in use, pool pumps consume more electricity they need to be switched off when not in use. Geyser must be switch off at night and when not in use.

How the Cape Town customers?

Electricity generated during off peak periods pump water to an upper storage reservoir-the down flowing water is then used to power a generator - small hydro generators like the one the steenbrass Dam mean that the city can sometimes avoid loadshedding or stay at a lower stage.

This will help South Africa save electricity and avoid power shutdown, because of good use of electricity.

However in the meantime the alternative of saving electricity is to implement loadshedding in different stages.

Stay safe and expect loadshedding today, if possible cook early to avoid cooking late due to loadshedding blackout.
