The good news for Huawei in South Africa despite a bad 2020 business year is that it is still one of the most loved phones in the country.
Huawei smart phones are reported to be selling quite well in South Africa despite the decrease in their sales globally in the 2020 business year.
These details are according to Statista , which are two of the country's biggest mobile operators and market and consumer site .
The decrease in the sales for Huawei is owed to the United States companies being banned from having business transactions with it.
Its reported that the Huawei mobile company started feeling the effects of the ban in 2019 when the Google Mobile Services were removed from the Huawei and could not be offered.
Futhermore , the ban from working with Huawei saw its manufactures cutting off its services. The manufacturers that make processors for the smartphone company also cut off their services.

As a result of the difficulties that would lie ahead when the ban would be into effect, Huawei is reported to have made a decision to buy in bulk the processors that they would later on use to make their P50 and Mate 40 devices.
It is reported that the Huawei mobile phone experienced a 80 percent decline in terms of its sales globally.
Moving on , the Covid-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the big smart phone makers globally. This was because they were affected by the lockdown regulations as there was less business.
The smartphone makers also felt the huge effects from limited trading as well as the manufactures. The good news is that they realised a recovery in the last half of the 2020 business year.

The low sales recorded by the Huawei company saw them being placed 6th behind other companies such as Apple , Samsung, Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi.
The research that was conducted by Counterparts Research reportedly highlight that Huawei managed to ship 188-million smartphones , compared to the 240-million which the company managed to ship in 2019.
