Here was what the Eskom boss had to say regarding load shedding

South Africa may have gone for months without load shedding , but the Eskom Chief Executive Officer Mr Andre de Ruyter warned that it remained a real risk .It has been long since there has not been load shedding , and the Eskom Chief Executive Officer said that this was a good sign .He said that the system was performing positively .However , even though there has not been load shedding , it was warned by the Eskom boss that people till had to continue using electricity sparingly .Even though there is no load shedding at the moment , people need to continue using electricity in a way that does not leave the utility strained .Another issue that was touched on by the Chief Executive Officer was that of sabotage .There were no culprits who were pointed out by the CEO , but he did reveal that there had been an increase in regard to security .It was added that there were additional 450 security guards to ensure that there would be no planned sabotage on the utility company .Eskom went through some challenges in 2021 and sabotage was identified as one of the factors that led to the power generation problems .

The increase in the security at the facilities of Eskom is helpful towards ensuring that sabotage and infrastructural damage is protected . There are some community members who have been vandalizing Eskom infrastructure for personal benefits , but the increase in security will limit that from happen . As the Eskom boss warned that load shedding remained a threat , community members need to be identifying other means of energy that they can use besides electricity . Other sources such as generators or solar energy can go a long way towards helping reduce the strain on the power company .
