Drip is a South African New brand, is produced and made in South Africa. The manager, CEO, and the founder of Drip sneakers Sehoana, 32, moved from having no shoes to wear to building a sneaker brand called Drip Footwear. The formal trade of Drip as a commercial brand started last year. The brand is growing very fast, is now a multi-million rand operation.
"My inspiration of going into business was not having much, including shoes. I grew up in an impoverished family. Sometimes relatives and neighbours would give us clothes," Sehoana said.
He said his grandmother taught him how to sew. He said his first sneaker came from old torn pair of sneakers.
"So for this one particular day at school, we were told to wear our private clothes. I didn't have any shoes to wear. So I took an old torn pair of sneakers and I sew it together, using denim and polyurethane". He said
He also said his brand's slogan, "The Township Dream", is meant to raise hopes and inspire youth growing up in poor environments to dream big.
He signed a multi-million deal with Cassper Nyovest who he introduced his sneakers to last year. The deal was to sell Casspers Sneakers in Drip retail stores. Both sneakers are doing well, South Africans love them
the founder posted on Twitter congratulating him, he said he is the first employee on the company and he is also the first to buy a car in the company. That means the Drip brand is growing and paying its employees good. The employee bought himself a brand new BMW. Mr Lekau said he also saw him on property 24,that means he bought or in process of buying a house.
