Eskom has announced another loadshedding

Eskom has announced stage two loadshedding from 9pm until 5am on Monday morning, Eskom says it's been forced to implement loadshedding because units at Kusile, Amot and Medupi have gone down. The cash strapped power utility says there have also been delays in bringing a unit at the Tutuka power station back online. Spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha

"In addition to the above, the failure of the coal conveyors at Medupi led to reduced output at the station. While this has since been rectified, it will take some time to recover the full operations. Furthermore, there was a complete shutdown of the Kendal power station ash plant due to an electrical fault. This required the station's output to be reduced to minimum. The ash plant has since returned to service, and the ash backlog recovery is in progress. These constraints, together with higher demand yesterday and today, have resulted in extensive usage of emergency generation reserves, which will have to be sufficiently recovered for the week ahead ~ SABCNEWS

We have rolling blackouts every December for the last 4 years. Right on schedule. You did this last year as well. So no surprise here. Guess we will now have to contend with another 2 weeks of this

A whole National Power supply failing to keep lights on. Maintenance after maintenance yet no improvement, winter they resort to cutting electricity blaming high volume consumption of power to the National grid, now its summer and the very same thing is happening they blaming the weather or harsh conditions. CEO after CEO, bail out after bail out, load shedding after load shedding. Is this really the sad end of this State Owned Enterprise materializing ?. Use less pay more Eskom, you don't want us to use less, you want us to pay more for less pretty sure you all will be getting performance bonuses this year again.
