Over R18 million disappears from Sekhukhune district municipality accounts

Only few Municipalities and other government department still get some Clean audit andsome just qualify only. This is because of high level of corruption taking place in the republic of South Africa.

Local Municipalities are now believed to be at the epicenter of corruption, more especially through tenders. What ia unfortunate in this matters, it is because it compromises the quality of service delivery to the people, in some circumstances it totally prevents the service delivery.

In Limpopo province, few years ago, we have learnt about so many Municipalities who took people's money to the VBS Bank while the bank didn't even qualified to hold Municipality money.

Now we are learning that Over R18 million had disappears from Sekhukhune district municipality accounts. This news was reported by The Citizen newspaper.

In all instances, the council referred to the mysterious disappearances of the money as either typing or accounting errors but new mayor has decided to take matters serious and appointed forensic Audits.
