Minister of Social Development for South Africa, Lindiwe Daphney Zulu. On international affairs, she served as the President's personal special advisor. In 1988, she was the PAN African Women's Organization's director of communications in Angola. Following through on her promise to the SASSA beneficiaries, Lindiwe Zulu has finally brought smiles to the faces of South Africans. His Excellency
Zulu said she will ensure that SASSA clients receive their R350 comfort funds by the end of this month. It has been more than two months since South Africans were supposed to get their monthly SASSA stipend for April and May.
For the first time in years, there is optimism for the millions of South Africans who rely on the SASSA grant. Lindiwe Zulu's commitment to SASSA beneficiaries has been met with a mixed response.
"The assurances of Minister Lindiwe Zulu are useless."
In other words, where is the money for people who were authorized last year but didn't receive a dime for months? Regarding this, I've sent out a number of e-mails. They don't need to raise our hopes. Because we've been waiting so long for nothing, it's best if the SASSA grant is no longer available.
There is no telling how long we will have to watch Lindiwe Zulu squander R350 million in social relief funding while you remain silent. Because certain ministers opted to put funding on hold until they finally remove other claimants who also depend on the SASSA relief grant, we now have to feed more than 15 families with our rations.
It is clear from the comments above that the majority of South Africans are dependent on the SASSA relief grant and are in a panic because SASSA is their sole means of subsistence.
In your opinion, do you think Lindiwe Zulu and SASSA will keep their pledge and pay the funds by June? Please share your thoughts in the space provided.
