Some Top Companies Implicated In Zondo Report Are Allegedly On The Run

Newsroom just reported, “Bain & Company, the US-based management consulting firm, issued a statement today refuting allegations contained in parts of the first report on State Capture regarding the SARS. Our Business Editor @mbanjwax speaks to whistleblower Athol Williams” 


Before now, many people thought that only the public sector played a crucial role in the state capture saga, however, the Zondo report reveals otherwise as many big businesses could be implicated. Some of these big businesses were accused of helping orchestrate the state capture by providing loopholes. 

According to an analyst, “Whilst corruption in SA has been made synonymous with the public sector and government, this report starkly reveals the complicity of the private sector in aiding and abetting State Capture"—Black Management Forum.

This has no doubt open another dimension to the state capture saga, and some people are suggesting that the businesses implicated must not be allowed to continue operating in South Africa. While this could be a good suggestion, it will further shrink the economy of the country that is already dwindling, battered by economic downturn and Covid-19 pandemic. This shows that the state capture is a network. It was organized and perfectly executed. 

A South African youth, Matima Moloko made a superb suggestion on Twitter today concerning this recent revelation. He asserted that regardless of who is involved, what business that is implicated, they must not be allowed to go score free because they sabotaged the economy of the country, and aided corruption. He added, “Beneficiaries of state capture must be investigated, charged and be arrested. Ke state funds not ANC funds, the report ase document ya Renewal program ya ANC but ya batho ba South Africa”. It was reported that some companies implicated are already on the run, “Bain & Company has pulled out of Business Leadership South Africa, after being implicated in enabling looting in the State Capture Inquiry report.
