Now the 1 hundred thousand trillion rand question, "which company prints the coins of South African money??"....Well this answer can be summed up in 3 words: South African Mint.

This government SOE is one of the unknown ones which are currently performing well. It is responsible for minting all coins of the South African rand, this SOE is owned by the South African Reserve Bank.

South African Mint manufactures all the time coins and planchets for both domestically and in international markets. It is located in Pretoria around Centurion and as expected, it is heavily guarded 24/7.
