Beneficiaries of the R350 social relief of distress (SRD) grant have been warned that they may struggle to access the website on certain weekends to check their grant status or submit applications.
The SA Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced that some of its services, including the SRD website, will be taken offline for essential ICT maintenance.
Sassa stated that the application channel will be temporarily unavailable for some "downtown" from Friday to late June.
When will the site be unavailable?
The following dates are set aside for system maintenance:
From May 27 to May 29, ( 5pm Friday to 11pm Sunday)
From June 10 to June 12, (5pm Friday to 11pm Sunday)
From June 24 to June 26, (5pm Friday to 11pm Sunday)
Sassa expressed regret for the inconvenience.
"Please be advised that ICT will be performing a series of system and infrastructure maintenance over four weekends." On May 20-22, the first weekend of maintenance was completed.
"Beneficiaries should be aware that the SRD website will be unavailable during these times." We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this maintenance may cause."
Please share your good or bad experience with SASSA on the comments section.
