Eskom made an announcement on Wednesday that it would implement load-shedding until Saturday .
The new schedule will see the load shedding that started at 2 pm on Wednesday coming to an end on Saturday at 5 pm .
This initiative came as a result of the loss in generation units at Duvha , Kendal, and Medupi on Wednesday morning .Eskom had warned on Tuesday that there would be a possibility of load-shedding if more units broke down on top of the five units that were already down .
There is planned maintenance that is scheduled to take place on Saturday .This will take place at 7 stations and it will see 3842MW being taken off the utility´s system.
It was highlighted that there is less use of electricity over weekends , meaning that the utility does not expect load shedding to be conducted .South Africa had last experienced load-shedding last week on Friday before returning on Wednesday.
