Can SASSA cancel my R350 grant if I do not reapply?

In this article, I'm going to share with you some of the most important questions most people ask on social.

Will Sassa cancel my grant if I don't reapply?

Your previous SRD R350 grant will automatically be suspended or cancelled after the new application rules are implemented as of 23rd March 2022 and you will therefore not be on the system to receive the R350 grant if you do not reapply.

Will SASSA review my R350 grant if I reapply?

You are correct, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) will review all reapplied R350 grant applications.

Th automatically means your previous information will not be taken into account but the agency will select the new personal details and documents to validate your eligibility for the new R350 grant if you reapply. We recommend you follow and read our articles to stay updated.

How to tell if I still qualify for the R350 grant to reapply?

Simple, to find out if you are still eligible for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Covid19 grant and to reapply you will need to confirm that you are still eligible for the grant on their online system.

When does SASSA pay the R350 after reapplying?

According to Zulu, you will receive your R350 in the month you reapply for the grant and are approved.

This means if you reapply in April and were approved in April, SASSA will pay your R350 in April as you have been verified and approved for the R350

However, your payment may be delayed or pending. In such a case, we recommend you contact Sassa call Centre.

Why do I need to reapply for the R350 grant?

According to Sassa, you must reapply for the R350 grant to allow SASSA to review and validate your application and eligibility for the SRD R350 grant to approve you.

If you do not reapply you will lose your R350 stipend meaning you will not receive your monthly R350 from SASSA.
