Right now in South Africa we are living through really hard times. We have to choose between buying things that are necessary for our survival versus buying things which are considered as luxury.
Things that are considered as needs are things such as food, water, shelter, clothing etc, and things that are considered as wants are things such as cars, flowers, going out etc. The decision between buying needs or wants was made more evident when a certain shopper left a bouquet of flowers at the cereal counter. One of the other shoppers saw this and decided to take a picture of it, post it online and give it the caption, "Our economy is killing romance".

A lot of people who commented on the post were laughing at the fact that the guy, or whoever it was that was buying the flowers, saw it best that he or they leave those flowers and take cereals instead as you can't really eat flowers. Some of those who commented thought that the person who left the flowers was a guy so, therefore, they said that the guy prioritised eating over being romantic while others said that it's best to have a guy that feeds you instead of buying you flowers.
