Eskom to suspend load-shedding from 9pm on Friday

Eskom says it will suspend load-shedding from 9pm on Friday as seven age units have gotten back to support.

The beset power utility said a unit each at Kendal, Camden and Grootvlei power stations and two units each at Majuba and Matimba power stations have gotten back to support. 


Eskom representative Sikonathi Mantshantsha said two units at the Majuba power station stumbled and a further unit was closed down for crisis fixes for the time being. 


He said a unit each at Grootvlei and Tutuka power stations additionally stumbled. 


"Of the five units, two have since gotten back to support," he said. 


Complete breakdowns currently sum to 14,960MW while arranged support is 3,345MW of limit. 


"Eskom might want to thank individuals of SA for their understanding and comprehension during the heap shedding," Mantshantsha said. 


"While the inventory has improved now, Eskom might want to demand the general population to keep utilizing power sparingly as the framework is defenseless and capricious."
