She said the incident happened while she was in a shop busy shopping she said her phone was in her bag. The bag she carried was a cross body bag which was in front of her. She said he heard an iphone ring and looked for hers. She could not find it, she looked in her trolley and packets but she couldn't find it. She realized that her phone had been stolen. She went into an iPhone store at the mall but her phone has already been disabled and her cloud deleted. She said she called the bank and blocked her cards.
She said soon after going to the bank to get another card as it was her sister's wedding and she needed money, the teller told her that she has no money left. The thieves managed to access her bank through her app and trnafer the money to them. She said the bank is still investing. The police told her there's a syndicate of women working in mall of Africa and she asked people to be safe.
However she trended because people did not believe her. They felt that there was too many holes in her story and had alot of questions which found the #mallofafrica trending. There are other people who came out to defend her, even Kgomotso Christopher came out and said the same thing happened to her.
