Dutch ACM Fines Apple, The Fine Rises €5M Per Week Until They Comply

The ACM of the Netherlands has taken further steps against one of the largest companies by market cap, 3 trillion dollars to be precise. Apple caused a lot of headaches for dating-app providers, which the tech company restricts them from using payment systems outside their platform and, for that the Dutch ACM has fined them 5 million euro. Apple will have to pay the first weekly penalty payment then they will continue to pay up until they comply with the law that was set. Image credit: Google

The Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets(ACM) declined what the tech giant said after it told the media that it had complied with the order that was handed down in December on 15 January 2022. The Dutch ACM ordered Apple to take down those multiple barriers that force app providers to choose, whether they use an alternative payment or payment system outside. Image credit: Google

The main issue here is Apple failed to adjust their conditions to meet app providers, failure to use other payments and a few eyebrows have been on Apple's intent to earn a commission.
