The most popular social media platforms such as Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook gave people all over the world a scare on Monday evening. This was after the named social media platforms were down for a couple of hours.
It was not explained what led to the crash of the most used social media platforms in the world, but there are lessons that were drawn from the setback. It was learned that social media played an important role in the lives of people.
Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook are the most commonly used applications by people in the whole world. When the applications were down yesterday, there was panic and frustration. This was because of the reliance of people on social media for communication with their loved ones. The Whatsapp platform is the most affordable means of communication between people.
As the outbreak of Covid-19 restricted the physical meetings of people, social media is used as means of communication. Besides the use of social media for social purposes, the platforms are used for business purposes by different entities. The crash last night made it impossible for business to continue. Advertising via these platforms was put on a halt for many hours.
There was a loss of potential revenue for Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram as the applications were not working. In other words, the world came to a standstill because of the crashing of the most used social media platforms in the world. Even though there were other mediums of such as YouTube and Twitter still kept running, it was not the same without Instagram, Facebook, and Whatsapp.
Another most important thing that was learned was that anything could come to an end without warning. The Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram platforms had never stopped operating at the same time before, but it happened simultaneously yesterday.
