The Story Of How Joseph Died While Saving Lives And How Pres Buhari Honoured Him 3 Years After
It is interesting to observe that good deeds are still recognized and appreciated by our political leaders in Nigeria. Even after their deaths, certain excellent and brave Nigerians continue to be recognized for their bravery demonstrated while they were still living.
Presented below is the life narrative of Joseph Blackson, who passed away on the 28th of July, 2018, at the age of 38.
Joseph Blackson, a native of the Bakana Degema area of Rivers State, died while attempting to save the lives of 13 people who had been involved in a boat accident.
The Nigerian contractor worked for an oil firm in Port Harcourt, the capital of the state of Rivers, where he provided diesel to their customers.
During his journey to his village of Bakana, the brave Nigerian was thrown overboard as the boat capsized. He assisted in the rescue of approximately 13 people, but he drowned on the fourteenth rescue effort.
As part of his tribute to Joseph Blackson's bravery and patriotism, President Muhammadu Buhari gave a posthumous award for bravery and patriotism to his wife, Mercy, and their two children on Thursday evening.
The medal was granted to his family in honour of the greatness and heroism he demonstrated in saving lives, even though he died as a result of his actions.
May the soul of Joseph Blackson continue to rest in perfect peace, and may God continue to bring health and pleasure to his family, which he left behind after his death.
