The commette was informed about the 145 covid19 corruption cases with 13 of these case being completed as Lebeya was briefing the commette. Lebeya said that the DPIC is still receiving a lot of cases as the Auditor General of South Africakimi Makwetu approaches the conclusion of his investigations.

"There is a huge influx of cases the AG's special report showing us that 80,000 exceptional illegal payments have been identified which will need to be investigated"

There is great concern that officials who nwe they were investigated regarding corruption scandals have since resigned from their jobs. The concern is that how will they hold them accountable in oder to recipe some of the money. There should be a way that will allow the law to access some of their assets and even freeze their pensions.
