Armed robbers keep on scaling new heights through their criminal endeavors across South Africa. On Wednesday 5 August 2020, an armed group of perpetrators descended on a Cash Crusaders outlet that is at Festival Mall in Kempton Park in the city of Ekurhuleni.
The robbers demanded access to the safe and managed to get an undisclosed amount of cash. They are also reported to have taken some valuables from the stock before shooting down some of the people who were in the shop.
The manager is said to have been one of the victims as he got shot on his leg when he was hesitating to follow the orders.
The exact number of people who got shot during the incident is not yet known and no arrests have been made. The security of the mall heard the shots and started hunting down the suspects who began fleeing.
They managed to escape from the mall and the police officers were alerted.
Sirens could be heard sounding and shots were getting fired as the robbers escaped. No arrests have been reported as yet.
