The suspects were found with cocaine worth over R30.4million.
The truck carrying a container loaded with cocaine worth over R30.4million was on en-route to Cape Town. The DPCI (Directorate Priority Crime Investigation) acted swiftly on the information and intercepted the truck.
The truck was intercepted at the petrol station on N1 in the early hours of Sunday the 17th of May 2020, the members managed to seize a total of 38 cocaine wrapped packages weighing 1kg each. A 37 year old driver of the vehivle was seized and the truck was also seized.
Investigations state that the container had came from abroad and transited through different provinces before it made its way to Cape Town. Further investigation will be made
Lieutenant General Lebeya said that the Haul and many others that had been recently confiscated shows that the supply chains of organised criminal groups have been severed.
